Is This the BEST $5 Roguelite? | Time Wasters Gameplay Review

🚀 From Confusion to Addiction: My First Hour in Time Wasters

I’m going to be honest: for the first twenty minutes, I wanted to hate this game. Time Wasters drops you right into the deep end with zero onboarding. No tutorials, no hand-holding—just you, your ship, and a literal galaxy of enemies trying to turn you into space dust.

But I gave it a second chance, and something clicked. Through pure osmosis and chasing down those mysterious green dotted locations (which turn out to be the key to progression and unlocking outposts), the “just one more run” loop took over. It’s a space-faring “Bullet Heaven” that feels incredibly rewarding once you understand the rhythm of bending time and space to your will.

While I’d love to see some voiceovers or a more cohesive story to flesh out the world, the raw gameplay is undeniably polished. Plus, at only $4.99 on Steam, it’s an absolute steal that runs flawlessly on Linux/Steam Deck via Proton right out of the box!
