Song I made today because I got tired of the moderators on one of the Discords I frequent using a new powertool of theirs to clear out messages in a general-no-support channel. Their reason, we have a channel for that. If general isn’t generally about anything and its a no-support channel the only thing should be nuked there is nsfw and hateful banter.
Oh well. The lyrics in the style of Dark Caberet, and Minor Key Blues
Title: The Moderators Are Coming to Clear Town
(Parody of “Santa Claus Is Coming to Town”)
Verse 1:
You better not spam, you better comply,
You better not question, I’m telling you why:
The mods are coming to clear town.
Verse 2:
They’re checking the logs, they’re counting each ping,
They’ve got a big hammer for muting your thing.
The mods are coming to clear town.
Chorus:
They see you when you’re memeing,
They know when you misspell.
They nuke when you’re off-topic,
And they’re gonna purge as well.
Verse 3:
Oh, you better not vent, you better not @,
Don’t ask where your messages went, you’ll regret that.
The mods are coming to clear town.
Bridge:
With /clear they’ll smite, whole threads disappear,
All your late-night banter? Poof, it’s not here.
The mods are coming to clear town.
Verse 4:
They’ll purge all your gifs, delete all your jokes,
If you dare resist, you’re banned by these blokes.
The mods are coming to clear town.
Chorus (repeat):
They see your clever hot takes,
Your memes and your debates,
But they’ll yeet it all to history
‘Cause “chats must stay pristine, mates!”
Final Verse:
So you better behave, stay perfectly bland,
Or they’ll erase your legacy with a flick of their hand.
The mods are coming to clear town.
Outro:
(Fade out with a mournful chorus of deleted users singing “Why, oh why?”)
