Sova Demo: Too Much Text, Not Enough Slaying

Played about 20 minutes of Sova Demo and the wall of text almost ended the run before the run even started.

Sova is a narrative-driven action roguelite from Entropic Island. Tight combat, branching choices, a weird sci-fantasy world. On paper I wanted the arcade half. In practice I got a novel that kept cooling my jets every time I tried to slay and upgrade.

Most of the text did not feel important. I mashed through it like a maniac until I found spacebar is faster. What I really wanted was hold Esc and skip the irrelevant talk. Character intros and dialogue panels need to be shorter. Do not force a two-way conversation. I do not want a dating sim while I am killing baddies.

The game looks like choices matter and the world shifts with you. Fine. Just do not bury the slaying under paragraphs. If they tighten the talk and let the combat breathe, I would go back in.

If you bounced off the same text walls, drop it in the comments.
